Mr. Rice is the President of K. Wayne Rice & Assoc., Inc. He earned the CCIM designation, the investment real estate industry’s equivalent of a Masters Degree, in 1984 and is one of approximately 20 Realtors in the country to have been qualified to instruct advanced real estate and taxation classes in the CCIM program. He has taught CCIM classes across the United States, has been published in numerous real estate journals and publications, has spoken at regional and national conferences and served as an expert witness in real estate court cases. Wayne continues to expand his knowledge and keep abreast of the dynamics of the real estate industry by attending and teaching classes and seminars across the country. Wayne’s expertise, vision, and knowledge help him analyze opportunities for his clients’ portfolios and assist them achieve financial well being through their educated decisions. Since 1974 he has concentrated on the purchase and sale of investment real estate, acquiring and managing properties for more than 300 investors and has concentrated on investment brokerage with an emphasis on investor benefits.
EDUCATION
Wayne graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Architectural Engineering in 1967. After serving in the United States Army for two years, including a year in Viet Nam, he retuned to an engineering job for approximately two years and then obtained his real estate license and started working in financial planning and real estate investments. In 1984 Wayne earned his CCIM designation and was also approved as an instructor for the California Association of Realtors in the Graduate Realtors Institute program. In 1985, Wayne was selected to teach in the CCIM program and soon became a Senior Instructor in Financial and Investment Analysis for Commercial Real Estate, in Tax Planning for Commercial Real Estate and in Exchanging Commercial Investment Real Estate.
EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL HONORS
Wayne has been a speaker at Canadian and U.S. National Real Estate conventions, an author of articles published in Real Estate Today Magazine and the Commercial Investment R. E. Journal and an expert witness in investment Real Estate court cases. He has been an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association and a speaker at 1995 SIOR Regional Conference. Wayne represented the United States in Real Estate Delegation to Australia/New Zealand in 1995, has been an instructor on Asset Management at the ULI Conference in San Francisco, CA in 1999 and has been instructor at St. Thomas University, Minneapolis, MN in Investment Real Estate courses since 1999. Wayne has brokered, owned and managed over $700,000,000 of investment real estate since he started in 1974. He was the Director of Commercial Real Estate for Prudential California Realty from 2000-2003, was named to Prudential California Realty’s Chairman’s Circle for outstanding sales for 2000-2003 and was an instructor for Wells Fargo Bank Loan Officers and Agents in 2006. Wayne was named a Senior Emeritus CCIM instructor in June 2007 with over 23 years of teaching for the CCIM Institute.
